Kinder Reward Eggs Are Great For Rewarding Good Behaviours
My family and I recently went on long planned and long put off road trip to Toronto. This was a 17 hour drive followed by a good sleep and then 3 days of non stop running as we fit in every possible attraction we could squeeze before we left. For those who don’t know, we have an autistic son who is on the more severe end of the scale with very limited verbal skills and a high propensity to wander. We also have a daughter with ODD, she is fairly under control but the stress of a trip of that magnitude would definitely be testing her.
We had not planned on any special treats but the week really did progress very interestingly and smoothly. The kids normally use tablets in the vehicle however after only 4 hours all tablets were exhausted, and yet even still we managed to make a 17 hour trip with zero fights. We cuddled down in the cabin for the first night and then up bright and early the next day for a half a day at Casa Loma and then the evening down at Ripley’s Aquarium. Then back through traffic to the cabin. A full day in the heat at Canada’s Wonderland and then off to the hotel before a day in Niagara Falls. Now here could have been a possible problem as we had originally planned on going to Ontario science Center to see the Mythbusters exhibit and to the Toronto Zoo. But a couple of last minute developments meant that we were going to get to go to see Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls with a last second addition of Marineland. I will admit that Marineland may have saved a lot of hassle, because the girls went nuts when they realized we were going to do that, but they were thrilled with the Bird Kingdom too.
We finished that off slept for a while and then started the trip home, splitting the drive into two days, while spending one night in a hotel in the mountains north of Montreal.
So how did we get home after all this trip, rushing here and there with two special needs kids and all three under 13 without a single fight??? Good luck, good management, and probably a fair bit of good planning on our part to choose good locations to visit. However in all reality, how do you do a trip like that, with kids behaving that well and not give them a reward?
A quick trip out to the store and the kids got to sit down with a couple of Kinder Eggs each, because, let’s be serious. They did earn a treat with their behaviour on that trip, and their most favorite treat of all is Kinder Surprise Eggs.
The kids had a lot of Kinder treats this year but of them all, the balls and the tops were the favorites (with the exception of the limited edition Minions of course)
Be sure to keep up with all things Kinder on the Kinder Facebook Page
