Solar Car Kit From Thames And Kosmos Helps Encourage STEM
As my kids have started to get a little older (ok not that old really) I like to look for new and different ideas of toys that not only interest them but challenge them a bit. I have been fortunate this year to have some interest from companies involved with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and I have found that I am just as interested in it as my kids are. One of those is this Solar Car experiment kit.
While it was never called that back then I first became interested in STEM when I was in high school and even though I never really got involved in that field of work, I have found that I am constantly coming back to STEM as a strong personal interest.
This particular project allows you and your children to build and experiment with solar power. It uses 5 different possible models, from a solar car to a wind machine, to teach your children in a very fun way, how solar power works and it is a great tool to help inspire interest for STEM based education in your kids.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Construct a solar car or one of four additional models using an innovative motor module that can be powered by a solar cell or batteries. Build a race car that drives across the floor, a helicopter with spinning rotor blades, a windmill with spinning turbine, a jet plane, and a gyrocopter.Learn how solar cells convert energy from sunlight into electricity to drive the motor and move your models.Full-color, 32-page color instruction book – See more at: http://www.thamesandkosmos.com/index.php/product/category/science-kits/solar-car-#sthash.SRCTH2RO.dpuf
