Halloween month with Kinder Surprise Eggs.
The time when kids go candy crazy, and ghosts and goblins are welcomed in almost every home in almost every neighborhood.
Growing up the treats of choice were much more fun, candied apples, home made squares and all sorts of neat things were on the menu. All things that are no longer safe because of the changes of the world around us. Through it all we keep looking for ways to keep the fun we used to have using new and different things. Those things include brighter and better costumes, bigger and better jack o lanterns and even using Kinder Eggs in Halloween bags to keep the fun and joy going.
Add to all of this, Kinder released a new set of toys in Mid September with the Transformer and Disney Fairy series and it can get truly interesting for some little children.
I had sat down and planned to make a great pumpkin for Halloween this year.
Now normally I don’t bother, but with two girls into Disney Fairies and all three kids into Transformers I decided to try to play with the whole idea.
I had two really good plans. in the first one I was going to take the top off and peel back some of the upper section to “expose” the center egg.
I was going to carve a fairy (Tinkerbell) as well as the Transformers mask into the pumpkin and if I could find them I was going put a Tinkerbell toy up top pulling out one of the Transformers (Bumblebee if I could get him)
The other option was simpler with the two designs into the pumpkin and maybe having the Tinkerbell and BumbleBee crawling out of their respective designs.
So I went and designed out the two designs for the pumpkins and jumped into the car. First stop was to buy the knife set to cut the pumpkin (like I said I really don’t do this much) and the next stop was to get the pumpkins. And the next, and the next….
Every year here where I live after Halloween is over when the prices go down people go snag the remaining pumpkins for jam and pies. There are going to be a lot of sorry people this year because I ran all over town for 6 hours and could not find a single pumpkin. I went as far as to call the U Pick only to be told that all they had left were tiny little ones that were no good for jack o lanterns.
Unfortunately I did not get to show my kids the pumpkin this year, hopefully next year.
They did get to open a couple kinder eggs though and while they did not get Transformers or Fairies in these ones, I have seen that most of the local stores now have Disney Fairies eggs on their shelves and I even found one that had Transformers as well.

Carl Bainbridge says
Yes for some reason the FDA will not allow the kinder eggs to be sold in the states because of the small size of the pieces for the toys that are inside the eggs.
