This is an interesting book that really gave our children a really good opportunity to read and more clearly understand exactly what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. Both of our girls have been preparing for a Christmas play at a local church and were starting to get a grasp on the concept and this was a great book to help them understand what they were singing about much more clearly.
What was even better is that the pictures and the flow of the writing helped to make them truly enjoy the book, what was even more surprising was watching our son sit down and read the book from end to end checking out all the pictures carefully and reading the whole way through the book.
The First Christmas Night captured all of our children’s attention and really gave them an enjoyable read.

This would be a great book to give to my daughter on Christmas morning. She gets a new Christmas book each year. The first gift we open contains a Baby Jesus figurine. Then, I tell the story of Jesus’s birth. I would love to read aloud this book instead of giving a verbal retelling. Thank you for the chance to win this book. It would truly be a blessing. I checked out the store website and without a doubt the other book that I am interested in is The Sparkle Box – I soooo want this book to use as part of a Christmas tradition as well. http://www.idealsbooks.com/The-Sparkle-Box-Jill-Hardie/dp/0824956478. God bless and thank you.
