Disclosure: I was provided a dinner cruise for my family to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.
We all have these little things we like the idea of doing. Every once in a while we get the opportunity to cross something off our bucket list that was a lot of unexpected fun. I had always loved the idea of a dinner cruise, however since our son has autism, and they are generally rather crowded affairs, I was not sure it would be a good fit.
The opportunity arose, this past summer to have a chance to check out a dinner cruise with my whole family. While it was not actually planned that way, the trip we were on was also one that had a few people from Easter Seals on the trip. This made things a whole lot easier as there were a large number of varying disabilities on board. It clearly became obvious that the crew definitely were capable of the compassion and care needed to deal with people with disabilities.
We took a lazy spin down the river in a two level Stern Wheeler Paddle Boat. It was a nice quiet trip down the river. The tour guide pointed out some fun historic sites along the route. The meal was incredible and it has to be noted that, we told them before the trip that our son had nut allergies. The staff was careful to make sure we were given nut free options and that the difference was made clear so that there would be no chance for mistakes.
The food on the dinner cruise was great
My wife shared a great photo of our lunch on the cruise on Instagram.
We also had some great desert.
Returning in the spring of 2018 the Sunset cruises and the Lunch Cruise our family took on the Niagara Belle is definitely a treat for your family. Be sure to check them out and add them to next years travel plans.

I went on a lovely dinner cruise with my hubby several years ago. We went again for a family birthday and it was a definite disappointment. I would check the reviews out, for certain next time.
