Last week, a playground in Centennial Park in Moncton got a makeover, courtesy of Tangerine, the City of Moncton, Bienenstock Playgrounds and some local community volunteers. 150 Tangerine team members, Bienenstock and local community volunteers came together for a one-day park revitalization project. An older small park that was fun even though it was well past it’s prime was revitalized into an excellent natural playground for local children. The build finished late in the afternoon after a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the final park, that included some brief remarks from Mayor George LeBlanc, Chief Operating Officer of Tangerine, Ian Cunningham, and CEO & Principal Designer of Bienenstock Playgrounds, Adam Bienenstock.

As you can see by the pictures my kids had a ball helping out and then playing on some of the equipment when it was over. The girls always love the chance to lend a hand when something needs doing and even at 12 this is not the first time my oldest girl has been involved in volunteering. It was overall a great day. The kids had fun, the volunteers I talked to were having a blast, the kids in the neighborhood will have fun on the new equipment. This was one of those great experiences where everyone wins.
What a GREAT idea.. More communities should have something like that…
I just love this playground! It would be lovely to have all parks changed to this!
What a nice idea. I’m so blessed to live in the country and my kids get nature’s play ground to play in all the time.
I have been seeing more and more of these natural playgrounds popping up. I think it is just super 🙂
Wow,natural playgrounds should be in every town
What a wonderful playground for children, you can see they had fun helping too. 🙂
this looks like it was so much fun and will be amazing for the kids!
I am a part of installing such Nature Play Spaces at the elementary schools in the cities surrounding me. The great part is we get the children involved in planting a garden area that is part of the play space as well. The kids love it!
I wish we had natural playgrounds. They are the best.
That looks like a wonderful playground!
We have been thinking of doing something like this for our school playground. Thanks for the ideas!
This sounds like a wonderful project. and people getting together to work on it is a great way to build community. Congratulations!
This natural playground is a wonderful imitative and involving the local community to build it, promotes a sense of pride.
