Foxmind Games offered us a chance to review Meta-Forms. The game was interesting because unlike a lot of other game manufacturers, rather then designing a game that is either for kids or adults, Foxmind chose to create a game that could be played by either adults or children. They designed it in such a way that it could be challenging for adults and still be not so difficult that children would not be interested in playing it.
The game is designed to be played by one player age 6+ however we found that our 4 year old could play the game comfortably as well which is an advantage as our daughter loves to play board games and often is complaining that no one wants to play at just the moment she wants to play. This game helps eliminate that by allowing one person game play, giving her a game she can play on her own when her sister and brother are not interested at the time.
Object of the game is to fill in the grid with the correct shapes, discover the award-winning puzzle game that has amassed a following of parents, teachers and children around the world for 25 years.
Use simple visual clues to place nine geometric shapes into a grid and find the unique solution to each puzzle. Meta-Forms puzzles are divided into six color coded levels of difficulty.
The puzzles are easy enough for young children to start playing acquiring solid reasoning and logic skills. While Meta-Forms is a wonderful educational game for kids, it also provides a challenge for adults too.
Players progress at their own pace through the six levels of the game acquiring solid logic and reasoning skills as they advance.
MetA-Forms has won numerous awards including:
